Australian Catholic Cursillo

The Cursillo Movement offers separate three-day weekends for men and women. The program presents a way of living as a Christian in the world, deepening a personal relationship with God, and evangelising to others. After the weekend participants are invited to continue involvement through Cursillo small groups.

Bethzatha Fellowship with the Disabled

The Bethzatha Fellowship began in the Wollongong Diocese in 1981, the International year of the Disabled Person, in response to the expressed needs of disabled people and their parents and families.

Camden Antioch

Antioch is a Catholic Youth Group that offers youth an ongoing opportunity to listen, discuss and better understand what it means to be a Catholic today.

Catholic Charismatic Prayer Groups

These groups are characterised by expressive, joyful praise, an openness to the spiritual gifts including prophecy and healing, and an expectancy that God will speak and work in power within the meeting. Music is an important element, helping to lift the hearts of those present. There are also talks, testimonies and prayer, and prayer ministry is always available. There are groups throughout the diocese.

Catholic Dutch Migrant Association

A network on the South Coast for Dutch migrants who offer newsletters, gatherings and community support.

Catholic Enquiry Centre

  • CEC is the national faith promotion outreach of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, and operates under their general oversight.
    It is based in St Leonards, on Sydney's north shore. 

Catholic Women's League

A Eucharistic community which upholds the dignity of women and encourages their participation in Church and society, to fulfil the mission of the Church.

Catholics Returning Home

A gentle process to welcome back Catholics to parish communities.

Crossroads Christian Fellowship

Ecumenical group in the Shoalhaven for people with disabilities.

Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community

An international community of people united in mutual commitment to each other and the Catholic way of life. Our membership comprises of families, single men and women, as well as priests and religious. We aim to renew and serve the Church by bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to others, by fostering a missionary outlook in its members and encouraging participation in local works of evangelisation, service and mercy.

Family Group Movement

Family Groups build Christian community through the development of extended families.
  • It is a great way to get to know other members of the parish and to support one another.
  • Each group may include married, divorced, singles, widowed, children, grandparents, Catholic, non-Catholic, lay and religious.
  • Existing groups are in West Wollongong, Nowra, Kiama, Culburra Beach and Bulli.

Felt from the Park - Handmade cards

A beautiful range of hand crafted Australian cards is available from a designer in our own diocese. Cards include Baptism, Communion, Confirmation and in Sympathy and ar made with special paper and felt designs.

Good Samaritan Associates

Campbelltown branch meets fortnightly on Fridays, studies the rule of St Benedict, the Psalms and the Scriptures and prays for the needs of the parish.

Institutes of Consecrated Life

Our Diocese is enriched by a number of religious orders of priests, brothers and sisters. 

iStand nights

iSTAND Nights is a Catholic youth group that meets on Friday nights at St Columbkille's parish in Corrimal. A great place to meet other young people, relax, play games and have fun, but also to learn about God and what it means to be a Christian. You also get to meet the Youth Mission Team.

Kalon House of Welcome, Claymore

  • Offering a house of welcome to the local community of Claymore.
  • Served by St Vincent de Paul Society, Good Samaritan Sisters and Department of Housing.

Knights of the Southern Cross

The Knights of the Southern Cross (KSC) is an Order of Catholic men committed to promoting the Christian way of life throughout Australia. Branches currently operate in many Catholic parishes and membership is open to all Catholic men over the age of 18. Goals include: fostering the Christian way of life throughout Australia, promoting the welfare of its members and their families, encouraging social and intellectual activities amongst its members and conducting and supporting educational, charitable, religious, and social welfare work.

Marriage Encounter

  • For couples of any age, married for only a few months to couples married over fifty years.
  • All they need is a commitment to each other and a willingness to work towards a stronger and more meaningful future together.

Ministry to Solo Parents and their Families

This ministry offers care and support to those who are widowed, separated, divorced, single parents and the children of these families.

Mount Carmel Retreat Centre

  • Many men and women have found healing, hope and renewal in an experience of the living God at Mount Carmel.
  • Newly renovated and expanded in 2012, all rooms now feature ensuites and many have double beds. More rooms are now available with direct, level access to the prayer room, dining room and chapel.

Neocatechumenal Way

The Neocatechumenal Way is not a movement or an association, but an instrument in the parishes at the service of the bishop to return to faith many of those who abandoned it.

Ruah Young Adults Group

RUAH is a Catholic Charismatic young adults group held fortnightly at the Xavier Conference Centre (38 Harbour St, Wollongong). Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity

Verbum Dei is dedicated to Prayer and the Ministry of the Word; offering retreats, spiritual guidance, day encounters with people of all ages, Schools of the Word and School of Apostles.

Aboriginal Catholic Ministry coordinated by Brown Sisters.

Wollongong Flexible Learning Centre

Conducted under the auspices of the Trustees of the Christian Brothers. Alternate education project for secondary students over the age of 15. Support youth accommodation, medium to long term.

Wollongong University Chaplaincy

  • Providing support to students at Wollongong University.
  • Mass is celebrated weekly during the university term on the University campus in the McKinnon Building (67).
  • Bible studies, faith sharing groups and social activities are also held regularly.
